It’s no secret that Windows 7 is retiring in January 2020. The 14th to be precise. After that date, all technical assistance and software updates that help protect your PC will no longer be available for the product.
vIT4u along with Microsoft, strongly recommends that you move to Windows 10 as soon as possible to avoid a situation where you need service or support that is no longer available and encounter any knock-on effects in your business. The last thing you need on the 15th January is all your employees unable to do their work!
You might think that January seems a long way off but there’s another reason to migrate to Windows 10 as soon as possible. According to Google, Windows 7 users are at risk from a “serious” bug that could let malicious hackers take over their computer.
In this article from the BBC they state that Cyber-thieves are “actively exploiting” the vulnerability by combining it with a separate flaw found in the Chrome browser.
Google has issued an update for its Chrome web browser to close the loophole.
Microsoft has said it is also working on a fix for the problem in Windows 7 however, why be at risk and prolong the inevitable, migrate to Windows 10 today?
